Among the Siri Arabians herd of very fine Polish/Crabbet/Kellogg
bloodlines is also some of the best quality Russian breeding found
today. Included is a very select group of straight Russian and
Russian-cross Stallions that are the sons of the original imports
of Howie Kale and Karho Farms. The first of these imports included
*MUSCAT, *NARIADNI, *MAG, *MARSIANIN, *NATUREL, *OTHELLO, *MENES,
*PADRON, *SALON, *NAPITOK, *MUSLIN, *PRINCIP and many more. This
"Russian invasion" has changed forever a huge segment
of today's Arabian horse in America and continues to influence
the show rings of Europe as well. Siri has many lovely sons and
daughters of many of these stallions and has enjoyed great success
throughout show rings around the country in both Halter and Performance.
In the early 80's, Siri Arabians imported a number of Russian
stallions and mares including
*OTHELLO (double*Salon/double Priboj), *Naturel
(*Mag x Nepreadwa), and a lovely group of mares of Aswan/Arax lines
through two of Europe's most influential stallions, *KILIMANDSCHARO
and *NEMEN. Now twenty years later there exists a concentrated gene
pool at Siri not found anywhere else. Among the first to mention
is the extraordinarily bred and beautiful O II who is the son of
*Othello and Majenta (*Muscat x *Kastanieta (Aswan/Arax). So much
like his sire in looks and personality and already admired among
his rivals by claiming Region 9 Res. Champion Halter Stallion. O
II's first foal, again like his dad, has tall stature, elegance,
substance, type and excellent movement. It is quality and Arabian
that you see when you look at O II. With his concentration of *Salon
and Priboj he is an ideal out cross to many mares.
Another Russian stallion, a stallion that Siri bred and imported
was the exotic dark bay Stallion
*NATUREL by *Mag out of a Pomeranits daughter.
After winning 3 Regional Championships, 6 US and Canadian National
Top Ten Halter wins, *NATUREL went on to be crowned Scottsdale Champion
Stallion (in the days when there were over 50 in the class) and
then Scottsdale Supreme Champion. It is unfortunate that *NATUREL
perished soon after he was exported to Brazil for breeding, but
Siri has maintained one of his exquisite sons, NATUREL HEIR, and
two lovely daughters, NEMTCHINOVA and NAKKITA.
NATUREL HEIR, a 1988 liver chestnut, combines
the Russian/Polish/Crabbet bloodlines of some of the greats. Close
up you will find GAZI, *TORNADO and ARAX. He is unmistakably Arabian
in type with his chiseled head, huge eyes, pronounced jowls and
strong conformation.
OZYMANDEUS, a 1990 grey stallion is the straight
Russian son of *OTHELLO x NEPOSAYDA (Nemen x Neposa) Extreme type
and elegance carried him successfully to numerous Championships
in Halter and Western Pleasure having been two times named Region
9 Top Five Western. His foals are tall, correct and have wonderful
dished faces.
*MIG is a 1993 grey straight Russian son of
*MAG x *KASTANIETA (Awan/Arax). He is not only very typey, but exudes
charisma with everything he does. He is tall and short coupled with
great impulsion and a powerful trot. Though he has been twice named
Region 9 Top Five in Hunter, he may soon be back in the show ring
in Show Hack. His first foal is an outstanding filly of very high
quality. His double Awan/double Arax pedigree will pass on his exotic
beauty and smooth body.
OLYMPEAN is a 1983 grey stallion by SIR MUSK
(*Muscat x RSR Jezebel). This 25 times Grand Champion Stallion and
"Most Classic" winner heralds from the "golden"
cross of Polish/Crabbet/Kellogg breeding. Out of the Siri foundation
mare RSR Jezebel, Olympean combines Gwalior(Nabor) and Abu Farwa
(a Legendary American Sire). Through his sire, Olympean carries
the additional beauty and stature of the *Salon influence and the
exotic features of GA'ZI. He is best described as storybook beautiful
with near faultless conformation with extreme length of neck and
a gorgeous head. Once you look into his eyes you will never forget.
His offspring are gorgeous. All his daughters have been retained
by Siri.
All the stallions at Siri Arabians include some of
the best and treasured bloodlines that have made the breed what
it is today. Their pedigrees are close up to the industry legends
that have molded this breed and their contributions will be an important
part of the future.
As many of our heritage bred horses grow older and
can no longer breed on, a jewel is lost forever. Don't wait too
long to consider one of these great stallions for your program or
come to the farm for a visit and look for your next halter or performance
horse.
